These are my friends Jeff & Katie with their son Ethan. Last night I had the privilege of baptizing Katie and another friend Marissa at Lake Nokomis (more pics here). The older I get in my faith, the more significant I believe baptism is to someone's spiritual journey. The picture of Katie above simply captures the mysterious joy of the "new life" symbolized in baptism. I love that Katie & Marissa were baptized how they wanted to be...in a public lake for all to see. For me personally, I am just honored to play a role in their lives. I have only baptized a handful of people in my life but I pray it never gets old for me. I am humbled by God to serve as a pastor/shepherd of people. I hope I learn and grow in this role and assist people to see God more clearly as they express their love for Him and their neighbors more and more each day!
