Most people's blogs have specific purposes but as you can see from the title, mine doesn't. I just needed a place to write on "whatever" I want.

Sick & tired of it
Why in the blog world does it seem if you are a Christian and voted red you only care about the issue of abortion and are not concerned about global poverty, the environment, and resolving war. AND if you are a Christian that voted blue, you are passionate about finding solutions for global poverty, the environment, and resolving war but you aren't concerned about protecting the lives of innocent unborn babies. I wish all followers of Jesus would stop labeling each other based on political parties and begin working together as the beautiful bride of Christ towards the renewal and restoration of all things.

Too bad there isn't a political party that cared about helping the world AND about saving unborn babies... that would be wonderful! It's sad that you have to essentially choose between the two, because they are all important issues. But then at the same time, is it the governments right to tell you what organizations/causes your money should be spent on? It was all quite a dilemma to me as I was deciding who to vote for. (and sorry about the novel!)
lisa told me that I should comment and tell you that I am, and have been, in agreement with this post (and your comment on Dan's blog for that matter). I've been very careful not to enter the ring of political conversation/arguing...especially when it's been laced with morality and ethics - pretty much a death trap of conversations. But, I agree with you. And I'm making it known!
I think the reason people get so upset with "the other side" (whatever that side is) is that we believe the result of an election or even a supreme court decision for that matter is the end of our political/social/moral involvement in society. What I found interesting about your post most of all is that you are addressing followers of Christ on both sides who are not willing to work together. This kind of action I can understand from unbelievers, although they are typically more open minded...it is kind of embarrassing...who are we representing a party or Christ, John 13:35? Thanks Jamie!
I came over to tell you I needed you to come and do an EMERGENCY organization class for Kaish : ) but then I read this very potent blog post.
I feel the same way. Almost exactly. I have Christian friends on both sides of the issue and it is driving me CRAZY!
I can't think of a nice way to say it like you did.
Let me know how much your classes are! I am starting to save. Kaishon needs HELP ASAP!
