My frustrating afternoon

I was pretty excited to get to Panera this afternoon and do some work until the following happened...

I was informed that I have about two months left to get paid for one of my part-time jobs in the Twin Cities unless I raise more support.

I had to fill out this detailed report for my superiors in one of my jobs. I hate filling out reports generally anyway and when you aren't exactly sure what the language of the questions is implying, it makes it that much more unbearable.

This one will take a bit of explaining - If you are a facebook user you understand the messaging feature on facebook. On more than one occasion I have written a rather detailed message to someone on facebook - hit send - and the internet suddenly goes out...losing the message. That drives me crazy! So I have adopted this process of hitting copy on my internet browser so if this happens I have the message saved. Back to my sucky afternoon - Today I was facebook messaging a few people in Germany about my trip there in 2009. When I hit send for the 2nd message I wrote, it seemed the internet was possibly going out. I thought to myself, "Oh crap. I didn't copy this message". So I rush to highlight the message and scroll down from edit to "copy" to save the message. But unfortunately I hit "paste" instead. So the previous message I wrote was pasted over top of the new message and then BAM - the message was sent. So message receiver "B" was sent a message originally written to receiver "A". I then had to perform the task of writing a new message to receiver "B" so they were aware of why I sent them a message addressed to receiver "A". I had to go through the whole copy-paste debacle and then rewrite the original message about my trip to Germany. So this time I hit "send" which leads me to the next part of my sucky afternoon

FACEBOOK BLOCKED ME - I received this popup message from facebook stating I was blocked from sending messages. They said I was sending too many messages through facebook. I felt like the CIA just busted me or I am some kind of internet SPAM junkie pushing Viagara. When I went to the page explaining how long my ban will be it said "maybe a few hours or maybe a couple of days". It also said that if I don't slow down the frequency of my messaging I could be "banned from facebook". Now let me make something clear - I am not a big facebook fan. I'd rather send E-mails and blog. I am what you call a reactionary facebook guy. I get my notifications - "Billy wants to be your friend". I get on facebook and hit "accept Billy" (even if I don't know who billy is) and then move on with my life. But recently I decided that if I was going to be on facebook I might as well embrace it and make the most of the opportunity for the type of work I'm involved with. And then this BAN happens.

So that is it for my ranting. Compared to world hunger and uncurable diseases my sucky afternoon is minor. I just needed to vent. Thank you for listening. And don't expect a facebook message from me for a while.

Holy cow! That's insane. So facebooks whole selling point is that it is a way to stay connected with people, but apparently you can only connect so much! That's crazy!

I hope you are able to find more support if this is job you are wishing to continue doing.

I feel like I am missing so much while not being in MN...

I'm glad you take pleasure in the fact that I am not going to get paid Tara. Maybe I can break my neck too. Would that make you laugh as well?

Sorry, Jamie, I just found it funny that you're not a big facebook fan, but apparently it's not so fond of you either. =)
