An interesting article to read from Time's website:
Church Group Attacks Christmas Commercialism
Here is a quote from Rick McKinley (pastor of Imago Dei Church in Portland) to spark your interest...
"Christians get all bent out of shape over the fact that someone didn't say 'Merry Christmas' when I walked into the store. But why are we expecting the store to tell our story? That's just ridiculous."

Sigh, the Christmas debate never ends. Under Constantine, Christians stole the holiday from pagans who celebrated the soltice. I imagine the poor pagans were a bit miffed about losing their holiday. Now, the Christians are losing the holiday to big box outlet stores who celebrate money.
I think some Christians have forgotten that they stole the holiday in the first place. These are the folks who make "It's not Xmas, it's CHRISTmas" cards. (If only more of us knew the X is actually an abbreviation of the Greek word Ichthus, and was never meant to cover up the word Christ.)
I vote that we all celebrate each and every day by living for the ideals and values we believe in!
Oh dear, how did I get on this soap box?
