#1 - I am a judgmental blogger. To that I confess I am judgmental of Eric's blog. I enjoy internet feuds with him.
#2 - Eric blogs "8 times more frequently than me." Now maybe Eric does blog "8 times more frequently than me" or maybe he is slightly (or majorly) exaggerating.
BUT (abs) in response to his accusations, I decided I would commit myself to one blog entry for every day of this wonderful Holiday week in honor of Eric.
Sooooo...

This is a summary/review from myshelf.com of the book that will give you a better glimpse into Bishop's writing.
There have always been questions about the birth of Christ. Even the apostles are scarce on the details of what really happened during Joseph and Mary’s voyage to Jerusalem. What really happened on that night? What could it have been like? Bishop takes a stab at answering some of these questions in the deeply moving book, “The Day Christ was Born.” Written in narrative fashion, Bishop’s view of the birth of Christ offers a dauntingly real perspective on the beginning of a new chapter in Christianity. Bishop takes us on Mary and Joseph’s journey as they deal with the very real world of living under Herod’s rule, as well as Mary’s connections with her family and her cousin Elizabeth, soon to be John the Baptist’s mother.
The life of Christ has always been a fascinating mystery for me. I love the fact that, in this book, I can go step-by-step with them and feel what they might’ve felt. The ideas in this book are only theory, but they are very realistic and based off of what information, both biblical and historical, that is available to study. Bishop has done a masterful job at recreating the first 24 hours of Jesus’ life. Beautiful work. Well done.
